My research focuses on understanding how changes in the microbiome and gastrointestinal tract throughout C. difficile infection and treatment contribute to recurrent C. difficile infection. Most notably, I want to understand how toxin mediated epithelial damage plays a role in spore persistence throughout treatment of the infection.
