The 97th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists
Important Travel Notifications:
Notice: for those traveling to College Station via George Bush International in Houston (IAH). There is shuttle company (Ground Shuttle) in College Station that will pick you up from IAH and bring you directly to the hotels (The George and Cavalry Court). However, as of April this year, they have posted on their website that they no longer will pick up from the hotel and bring directly to IAH. Now, one has to get transportation to their office first. This means you would need to get a taxi or other transportation to the Ground Shuttle office in College Station and then they will take you to IAH.
The LOC has spoken with the manager and they will make exceptions for our meeting attendees. But you need to do the following. In booking your Ground Shuttle reservation there is a comment section. In the comments, please state the following: “I am attending the American Society of Parasitology meeting in College Station from July 9-12. I will be departing from College Station on the day of July {XX}. I will need direct transport from my hotel {give name} to IAH. Please contact me so I can make the necessary arrangements”.
We suggest following up with Ground Shuttle via a phone call to make sure all is good (1-855-303-4415).
If you have already booked with them, you should call to see if you can arrange a direct transport.
Please note: they are only going to do the direct transport with groups of individuals and not for single individual rides. This will be coordinated through Ground Shuttle as requests are made. Also, you need to be ready at the hotel one full hour prior to the scheduled departure time. Drivers will follow the same instructions as always, call passengers 5-10 minutes before they get to the hotel for the pickup. If a passenger is not ready at that time, they will need to go to the Ground Shuttle office.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but this was a sudden change that was out of the hands of the LOC.
If you have a reservation to stay at The George or Cavalry Court under the American Society of Parasitologists conference, you can arrange to be transported from and to the CLL airport. You need to send an email to Morgan Meador mmeador@valenciagroup.com at The George hotel.
You will need to give her your name, contact info (phone number and email), hotel reservation confirmation, and travel arrival/departure information.
