Texas A&M University Biology Department Welcomes Visiting Fellow, Dr. Leslie Griffith
By: McKensie Le Fevre
The Texas A&M University Department of Biology is delighted to host Dr. Leslie Griffith, an internationally renowned neuroscientist and current Visiting Fellow in the Department of Biology, supported by the College of Arts & Science and the Hagler Institute for Advanced Studies, as she joins us this month. Dr. Griffith, a professor at Brandeis University and a leading researcher in the field of molecular and cellular neuroscience, will share her groundbreaking research and expertise with the Aggie community.
Dr. Griffith’s work focuses on understanding how the brain forms, stores, and retrieves memories—a key area of investigation with implications for neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive disorders. Her pioneering studies have advanced our understanding of neural circuits and the molecular mechanisms underlying learning and memory.
During her time at Texas A&M, Dr. Griffith will:
- Collaborate with faculty and graduate students on ongoing research projects.
- Participate in the symposium “Decision Making: Neuroscience Meets Economics” on January 31st, which brings together experts from diverse fields to explore the intersection of neuroscience and economics.
Dr. Griffith’s visit is part of the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study at Texas A&M University, which brings outstanding scholars to campus to collaborate with the Aggie community and enhance research excellence.
